Hey everyone, just dropping by with a few updates. Firstly I'll have my newest review this Saturday, that way I can put up a new poll as well, and this one is gonna be pretty interesting. As of this posting Deadman leads the way in our Brightest Day Poll but with two more days to vote anything can happen.
Also, I wanna say to anyone and everyone, that 2011 looks to be interesting with the solicits in the back of Flash #01 pointing to an upcoming storyline called Flashpoint. I may not be the biggest Barry Allen fan, (Bart > Wally > Barry > Jay in my book, no offense to Jay.) but I'm hyped about this, even though it's a year from now. With Batman, Supes and WW getting long arc's and recently Green Lantern, it's about time Flash got one and it looks to include the Trinity in a big way. You can't tell alot about one page but I'll be on the look out for Flashpoint.
Lastly the big announcement over at the DCU Blogs today was there will be a comic called Time Masters: Vanishing Point. This will feature Rip Hunter gathering a team consisting of three of my favorites, Superman, Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) and Booster Gold to travel through time and look for Bruce Wayne. The idea of this is genius. Why wouldn't they go looking for Bruce now that they know he's lost in time? Plus Booster standing side by side with the man who ended the Blackest Night and The Man of Steel does nothing but help him look better which is great. I'm extremely happy to hear about Rip's Trio searching for Bruce Wayne, and this apparently will go hand in hand with The Return of Bruce Wayne. Time Masters will also be a six issue mini-series. Also it will apparently have clues to the next big DCU event in it. So look for that in July, as I certainly will. And of course I gotta show you guys the awesome cover.
Tell me that's not awesome. Birds of Prey, Time Masters, Jason Todd's mini series, The Return of Bruce Wayne, End of Blackest Night, Brightest Day. Man the DC Universe is heating up in 2010. What else is coming? I'll be waiting on more announcements and I'll definitely update you guys, especially If I'm as giddy like I am now, haha.

I personally can't wait for all this exciting stuff to happen. I see I'm going to have to start reading The Flash.
ReplyDeleteNice blog update sir.
Thanks kindly ms. Falisha Ann :) And yeah I'll give you my issue after I review it Saturday :D
ReplyDeleteThat's some nice Dan Jurgens art right there, even if I do sometimes miss his presence over at Marvel.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely agree there Marc, I only recently found out Jurgens created Booster Gold. I never knew that until a few weeks ago, no wonder he writes him so well haha.
ReplyDeleteI think the entire Dan Jurgens Booster Gold series is contained in the Showcase Presents Booster Gold trade, which I've been meaning to get for a while. I'll have to let you know how it is when I get around to reading it.
ReplyDeleteAwesome, please do let me know. That sounds like something I'd like to check out, pending your recommendation of course.
ReplyDeleteHal, Supes and Booster? You know I'll be there! I wonder if that means that the other heroes will finally get to know about all of the important work Booster has been doing since 52? I mean, they all think he's still the money hungry, egotistical jerk he use to be(except for Bruce), so it sounds like this mini may change the way Booster is looked at by at the very least, Hal and Supes.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking that too, once they know his true job they'll respect him more and maybe that'll lead to more stuff with him and crossovers with Hal and Supes. Hell he helped Hal get his ring in that one arc. I'm glad to see Booster make the jump from a D-List hero to a C and now hopefully a B-List hero.
ReplyDeleteThank god that Bruce Wayne is coming back, and thank god for Flash Point but the order actually is (Wally>Jay>Barry>Bart)
ReplyDeleteHmm interesting, care to explain your order Joseph? I'm more partial to Bart because his character just stands out to me the most, I really liked his quick run, no pun intended, as The Flash and he's awesome as Kid Flash and was as Impulse. Wally was my favorite before I started reading about Bart, and Barry and Jay just fell in that order based on how much I like them.
ReplyDeleteHey, check it out, Maxwell Lord has pulled even with a day to go!!! Go Max go!!!
ReplyDeleteI saw that, we may have our first ever tie in the poll, or one vote could easily sway it. Whoever voted for Aquaman would've been the deciding vote for now too lol.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't me - I haven't voted yet... I can see Deadman being the biggest character for Brightest Day, but I'm not a huge fan, so, you know - personal bias coming through ;)
ReplyDeleteTBH, I don't know about this whole Bruce Wayne thing. It just comes off as too goofy, and it would be nice if the status quo wasn't returning so quickly...
I so expected you to be the Aquaman vote Nagash. I'm shocked you haven't voted for him.
ReplyDeleteI see your point, does seems like too quick of a return but I actually missed Bruce and every story with Dick is like the same story over and over again, I'm tired of it already.
Yeah, I've got to say that I'm surprised Nagash hasn't picked Aquaman yet as well... It does look like Aquaman is beginning to pick up some support though. It's really starting to look like things are going to end up a tie JT.
ReplyDeleteYeah X, looks like you're right. I'll leave it up until I post my Ratings and Rantings tomorrow then put up the new one which is sure to be interesting. I'm shocked at the last minute Aquaman support, meanwhile my favorite Martian gets no love, oh well, maybe next time Big Green.
ReplyDeletethe thing is that Bart is just a flash in the pan, Wally has had most screen time and I have grown accustomed to him, that is also the same thing with Jay Garrick, I read allot of JSA and have grown to love the series and its characters, and Barry is the classic, leaving Bart, I like Bart allot, but he is not in the same league as the other three
ReplyDelete"oh well, maybe next time Big Green." HA! The poor Martian...
ReplyDeleteYeah, it looks like Max is losing out as we get closer to the end... Where did all of this Aquaman support come from?!? Although I will say that I had honestly expected Aquaman to run away with this poll, so I'm still surprised that he's in third. I guess he's not as over as I thought. See that, JT's Weekly Poll, fun AND informative!
I can definitely see your point Jozeph. I do, to me I guess I just match with Bart personality wise so I like him a lot, that's just my preference, but if there had to only be one Flash, my pick would definitely be Wally.
ReplyDeleteWhat I wanna know is where all these votes are coming from?! Because someone voted for J'onn, and someone else voted for Deadman to give him the lead so I'm just wondering, if anyone's reading and voting feel free to join and comment! :D Lol
As the most changed character by Brightest Day, and if you look on the cover of brightest day (cover B) it is clear that Dead Man has to play a big role, where he (hopefully) dies
