Category Winners

Top X-Men Member - Wolverine
Top Robot/Cyborg - Three way Tie - Cyborg, Cyborg-Superman, and The Vision
Top Spider-Man Character - Tie between Norman Osborn/Green Goblin and J. Jonah Jameson
Top book that seems like it should've been cancelled - Brightest Day
Top Comic Writer of The Year - Bryan Q. Miller!

Thanks everyone for participating, and these picks are really shocking. I didn't expect to get a three way tie on the Top Robot or Cyborg but I think we all expected Wolverine to dominate the Top X-Man category. Jameson and Osborn show that nice guys do finish last since they are the top characters voted for Spidey's Universe besides the web-head himself. Brightest Day being the book that's voted to have been cancelled, that's pretty sad on DC's part but hey, what can ya do? And lastly, I'm glad that Bryan Q. Miller walked away with the writer of the year, the guy has been amazing so far and does deserve even a little recognition on my tiny blog. He's been great on Batgirl consistently, and especially on her Road Home issue, so great picks everyone. That's all for me, until next time, I'm your friendly neighborhood blogger-man, Jason Todd!

  1. Eww, how did Carnage get so many votes? Have you guys never actually read a comic with Carnage?? He's like the Gambit of the Spider-Man universe. LOL...

  2. It was to big for me to read but I do know this they need to get rid of Teen Titans! Speaking of
Teen Titans. I kinda changed my blog where it does Marvel and DC. Yeah..... it's kinda the exact opposite of your blog but the background was inspired by yours. Anyway come by and look at if you have some time and tell me if its to copycat.

  3. by the way its Ben or shield agent #41 .I changed my profile.

  4. Woooo another Top 5!!!! I kind of had an idea who was gonna have the most votes for Fav. X-Men. But as always it's nice to see what people are digging now days.

Aww come on Marc, Gambit is pretty awesome. :)

  5. AARRRGGHH!! DIE GAMBIT DIE DIE DIE!!!

    Uh...wait, where am I? I think I just had a rage blackout...

  6. I've got to say, I'll always have a little love in my heart for Carnage from that Maximum Carnage storyline back in the day... Early Carnage was one of those characters who was so crazy he was great!

Jeez, HOW did I forget Cyborg Superman?!? I mean the guy HAS the word Cyborg RIGHT IN HIS NAME! Stupid! If I could take it all back, Cyborg Supes would DEF earn one o' my spots.

  7. Agreed, Maximum Carnage was great. Oh Kletus Cassidy, you crazy S.O.B.

Thanks to you, Hank Henshaw was screwed out of a win. Hasn't he suffered ENOUGH X?!

  8. I'd apologize to poor Cyborg Supes, but I doubt he'd accept it... He seems the type of guy who really holds a grudge, what with the whole trying to drag Superman's name through the mud and destroying Coast City and all... Oh well, regardless, I AM indeed sorry Cyborg Superman, where ever you are!

Oh, and I chose Drake for the poll this week. Sure, Jason as an insane Batman would have been a blast, but I think if not Dick, then the Jinx should have become the next Batman.

  9. Yeah, that guy. How dare he hold a grudge and be pissed off after his wife and friends got killed from something that pretty much just gave the Fantastic Four superpowers!

I actually went with Jason, because since Dick was originally gonna die during Infinite Crisis, I figure that Jason would've been a more compassionate Nightwing type character instead of an insane Tony Daniel shoot-em-up for no reason character. Plus... he's owned Drake like THREE times! :P

  10. "Pretty much"?? Wasn't it like the exact same storyline? But regardless, my apology stands.

Yeah, I figured you did when I saw the results. But I was going if things had shaken out the way they did in the real DCU, not if Dick would have died during IC. I mean to be honest, if Dick HAD died during IC, Jason's entire existance would have been SO different. If Dick had been killed during IC, then I'd completely agree with you and have picked Jason, because I'm sure he'd have been way closer with Bruce by the time BftC rolled around. But with the way things did shake out, I can't see how Tim doesn't get it. Jason was crazy, Damian was too young, and I don't think the world would have been ready for a female Batman.

  11. Yep, just another way Hank Henshaw got screwed over by the universe.

I completely get your point, to be honest I kinda expected Tim to run away with this so I'm shocked that Jason is currently winning. Part of me wonders how different the DCU would be if Dick HAD died during IC.

  12. You know, that sounds like a fun little What If? type of thing to do... If I'm ever feeling really creative(and bored!)during my Winter break, I might think about doing a "What If Dick Grayson died during IC?" sort of post.

    ReplyDelete
  13. That would be pretty awesome. I think it'd be pretty cool if ya did that, so now I'm gonna browbeat you about it until ya do it. :P

    ReplyDelete
  14. Haha, if only you'd known what you were getting yourself into.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I think it sounds good too! Heck, since you seem to care more about decent What If stories than anyone at Marvel, they should just hire you to write all those one-shots. :)

    ReplyDelete
  16. I'd happily take that job in a heartbeat, Marc!

See, now I kind of want to do this... I'll have to see if I can squeeze this in between my reviews and the end of the year festivities.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I agree Jason. I don't even know what Drake is doing in the bat family. I mean the two most powerful boy of wonders are Dick and Jason. Drake well..... he is so-so.I do wan't to see a little redemption story line between bats and Jason(with non weird hair color). Jason has hidden potential. I think Dick will be more of a guest appearance character in the next few years. Anyways I'm short of comic review ideas can anyone help me?

  18. I'd recommend going to your local library and just checking out whatever looks interesting to you, Ben. That's what I did when I was your age and didn't have much money of my own, and it's how I learned a lot about comics at a pretty early age.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Yeah, I look at the Doomsday/Superman collection. I can't put my finger on one thing how is it they kill Doomsday and he just keeps coming back stronger. Anyways you guys are all lucky I have to wait at least five between reviews so I can make the most of the two comics I get every week.
By the way would you recommend heroes for hire?

    ReplyDelete
  20. The library is a very good source.
