Category Winners

Funniest Character: Spider-Man & Deadpool
Most Memorable Death: Jason Todd
Hottest Character: Power Girl
Top Animal Inspired Character: Spider-Man
Most Dysfunctional Teammate: Deadpool

We've got some pretty interesting results this week everyone, I can't say I'm shocked that Spidey and Deadpool tied for funniest character considering their fun characters, especially when they team up. Jason's death did surprise me though as being one of the most memorable, I expected Superman to run with that for some reason. Power Girl and her trust boob-window thanks everyone for her votes and vows to be more busty and kick-ass in the future. Spider-Man won another category as the most animal inspired hero, I personally thought Batman would win. And lastly, Deadpool is the most dysfunctional teammate, which I think would be a compliment to the Crimson Comedian. Once again I wanna thank everyone for sending in picks and making this another great Top Five 5. Don't forget to vote on the new weekly poll as well, and until next time, I'm JT, signing off.

Last week's poll question asked "Which of these fight's would you like to see the most?"
Third Place with 10% - Deadpool vs. Captain America, which we saw this week actually.
Second Place with 20% - Tie between Batman vs. Deathstroke and Ironman vs. Lex Luthor
Winner with 50% - Daken vs. Deadpool, get on it Marvel!!!

  1. I've been wondering who that other guy was creeping around Red Sonja's window late at night...I guess it was Kello! haha...

  2. First off, I'm surprised by last week's poll result. It was pretty much a runaway, wasn't it? I'm still a bit surprised Dan Way hasn't found a way to get those two characters together besides that issue(or two)of Wolvie Origins.

What, you DID ask for the hottest characters, didn't you, JT? Is it my fault I took the category literally? :D Yeah, I'm a jerk, but don't you think you were a bit harsh?

And yeah, the Jason Todd thing shocked the hell out of me too. Jason and Lian's deaths were probably the two most sickening deaths I've ever read in a comic book. They were both pretty terrible, Lian's obviously because of her age, and Jason's because of the brutality involved in it. I couldn't bring myself to pick either one because they're two deaths I've tried hard to forget!

  3. Yeah it really was, I expected more Batman/Deathstroke votes actually. I'm also wondering when Daniel will put those two together again.

Lol yeah, maybe I shouldn't have called you that. I apologize buddy :P And yeah, I'd agree those are two of the most sickening deaths, I'd also add Ted's due to the fact he was pretty much executed by a former friend.

  4. Yeah, I'd agree with Ted's death, he went out with such a whimper. Heroes should die heroic deaths, you know? Ted was cuffed, on his knees and executed... I'd have rather he was shot while actually in the act of fighting against Max or saving somebody or something like that. I'd definitely add Ted to my least favorite deaths list(maybe a top 5 category?), but his death still doesn't touch Jason and Lian. At least Ted was a full grown man... Oh, and apology accepted. :P

  5. Lol @ apology accepted. I'd say he kinda went out like a hero, trying to stop Max when no one else really believed in him. Sure he got executed but he never gave up or tried to barter with Max or anything, he took his death like a man.

  6. Agreed about taking his death like a man, but his death just didn't FEEL heroic to me, you know? It's hard to explain, but he just sort of died. I mean the shock value was huge, because Max just suddenly killed him, but it was just lacking something for me... To me, Superman "died" the ideal hero death. He went down fighting, and saved his city one final time. Ted didn't get that chance. He just died... Hopefully you can make sense of this rambling, JT! :P

  7. Oh nah I understand what ya mean dude. I'd say comparable to Superman his death doesn't stand out but considering his death kinda kicked the whole Wonder Woman killing Max thing into motion I'd say it was still pretty memorable in that sense.

  8. Wow, this Top 5 was definitely a fun and interesting one. About time "Hottest Characters" made it way into a top 5. Lol.

Definitely surprised at how many of us had similar picks for some of the categories. And I'm with you JT, I was shocked to see J. Todd's death up there. I thought for sure Batman and Superman's death would take the category. But I mean, the way J. Todd went out was bone chilling, still gives me the chills. One of the saddest things I've read.

And as for X being a "jerk" on the Hottest Characters" picks, lol, I mean come on JT, it's X. What would you expect!!! He's that type of guy that thinks outside the box for jerk purposes. Lol. :-P It's all love X. :)

  9. Lol the fact that it was Kello's idea means you can't hold it against me :P

Yeah, I think if the topic was most shocking death I would've expected Jason, but I'm kinda glad he got most memorable because it shows how iconic his death was, even if DC completely ignored him during Blackest Night.

He's STILL a jerk, but just for other reasons now. :P

  10. @Marc, I forgot about Aunt May's death in ASM #400. Good choice, that's a damn good story. Shame it was just genetically modified actress posing as Aunt May!

  11. "I mean come on JT, it's X. What would you expect!!!" HA!! That line had me rolling! You know how that X guy is, JT... :D

    ReplyDelete
  12. Lol yep, a big NY jerk, so it really does make sense :P

    ReplyDelete
  13. Yeah, that's his way... Poor guy can't help it. He's just a born jerk. :P

    ReplyDelete
  14. Sheesh, that poor X guy... Just because he's a jerk doesn't mean you should be threatening him with death! For shame, JT! :P

  15. @Paul I agree 100%. Aunt May's death was an island of good storytelling in the midst of what was otherwise a terrible time for comics, and for Spider-Man comics especially.
