Legion of Superheroes (Soap opera, superhero and sci-fi action from Levitz. But needs more Matter Eater Lad!)

Category Winners

Least Favorite Comic Couple: Dick Grayson & Starfire and Cyclops & Emma Frost
Most Recruited JLA Member: Batman (Bruce Wayne)
Character in Need of Reboot: Arsenal
Top Ongoing Comic Recommended: Batgirl
Most Common Halloween Costume: Batman & Deadpool

Man we had some great picks this week, so thanks to all who participated. The first category was extremely close, and I can't say I'm shocked that Cyclops and Emma or Grayson and Starfire were the top picks, but I do find it funny that both of those relationships involve a red-headed ex Girlfriend though. Batman being highly recruited wasn't a surprise, and all the teams had Batman involved except for one so that shows you that Batman is an integral part of the JLA. Almost everyone agreed that Arsenal needs a reboot due to recently losing his arm, daughter and everything else. Top ongoing Comic is won by Batgirl, one of, if not the most consistently good comic book published today. And lastly the Dark Knight and the Merc with a Mouth were the most common Halloween Costumes, I can't say I'd mind seeing that team up either, but maybe that's just me. Anyway, thanks again to everyone who participated, and special thanks to Kello who sent in a TON of great future Top Five 5 categories. Below are the results to last weeks poll, and don't forget to vote on the newest weekly poll as well. Until next time, I'm your friendly neighborhood Blogger-Man, Jason Todd.

Last Week's poll asked "Which character would you kill off for good if you had to?"

Last Place with 6.3% - Batman, Bruce Wayne returns from the grave for good.
Third Place with 18.8% - Superman, The Death of Superman is a thing of the past.
Second Place with 31.3% - Spider-Man, The Amazing Spider-Man gets One More Day.
Winner (or Loser?) with 43.8% - Captain America, maybe Bucky is doing a fine job?

  1. Hey JT, as you know I love this feature! I'm laughing at how similar X and I are in some respects, but maybe that's why we've been Blogger friends for so long.

I can't believe I passed up the chance to put Green Arrow/ Black Canary near the top. They're on couple that makes sense to me, but not long-term. I don't imagine ollie being the type of guy to settle down, much like DC was making him do a while back before Arsenal ever picked up a cat. And Firestar/ Grayson? I hate them so much that I must have blocked them from my memory.

And Marc, did you read/ like Simon Dark? I think you're the first person I've met who wants to see him back...

I also think it's interesting that people picked different combinations for Spidey. We all think we know what's best for Pete! I don't mind him being unmarried, but he has to be with MJ or Gwen. So I guess at this point, he would have to be with MJ again, and since he couldn't marry her, they would have a longer courtship than a certain laudry carrying friend of ours...

  2. Glad you're such a loyal fan of the Top Five 5 Kello, and I also noticed how similar your picks were with X's, you guys pulled a Wonder Twin moment.

That Arsenal line was pretty funny, I'd forgotten about the cat, it was so funny I'll ignore that you mistakenly called Firestorm Firestar, but I'm sure Marvel will sue you. :-P

Lmao, I don't have any comments for that Kello, I will say I'm a big fan of Spidey and Black Cat although that's just me, and my style of women that I'm trying to portray onto Peter, hm... but Peter Parker, not Peter David.

  3. And you mistakenly called Starfire "Firestorm" after I mistakenly called Starfire "Firestar"! It has been one of those days. I blame skype...and Marc.

  5. I'm with you guys! I don't even know what day it is anymore... Blasted Marc... :D

Wow, my picks and Kello's picks were so similar it's almost like we're the same person... But that would be impossible. Wouldn't it??? And to continue to parrot Kello's words, I'd love to hear what Marc thought about Simon Dark too. I picked up that whole series on a whim a few months back but never read it. Any opinions on it?

I'm SO kicking myself for not picking BC and GA in the worst couple catagory, especially considering how great Dinah and Dr. Mid-Nite were together... I'm STILL a bit steamed they didn't stay together!

As for this week's poll, I went with my boy, Daken and Pool. Watching Daken try to manipulate DP would be well worth the cover price of whatever comic that happened in. Hmm, since Dan Way created Daken and writes DP, maybe there's a chance that'll happen one day!

"(So we got a trouble maker eh?! :P)" Always! :P

  6. Blame me for your troubles all you want, guys...I'm on my way to the bank! :D

Cool picks, everyone. Kello, I've read the first Simon Dark trade and really enjoyed it. I don't know how the series ends, but I'm really sad that it had to go and I hope I'll see Simon again even after I've read the other two trades in the series.

And X, I'm surprised you didn't mention an X-Man reboot! I'd love to see that personally, and I wish I'd thought of it before I made my list.

I also was telling Kello right after I sent mine in that I wished I'd put down Moon Knight as in need of a reboot...but then the next day, Marvel announced Bendis and Maleev were rebooting it! This gives me hope for my other picks...
